Bring Him Home

For almost four years, he did his duty.

Providing equine therapy for veterans and handicapped.

Their kids also took lessons for free.

Every day he was calm, patient, sweet and tough.

Trotting, loping, drill teams, barrels, racing, and even jumping.

Until he stumbled. He couldn’t do it anymore.

It was time to bring him home.

Home for the weary. To the land of rest.

My land where I have been blessed.

I can “bring him peace, bring him joy, he is still young.

Let him live. Let him rest.

Bring him home.”

I was injured and stopped riding. HorsesSpiritsHealing.com gave him a purpose as I watched with pride. He was a big part of their program and they loved him.

But arthritis set in from an old injury of his own. He had been doing his best for them until he started limping badly one day. Xrays revealed the truth. Retirement happened that day.

    We are gimps together now.

It’s nice to have him back home.
