And so it begins.

In my book about firefighter Dan Steffensen, I wrote “Fire season came early that summer of hell.”

That was June of 2021.

This photo is Red Lodge in April this year.

Is this now the norm or is this an off year?

We needed more white this winter to have more green this spring.

We need our forests to survive the summer to give us and our wildlife shade in the fall.

We need our four seasons back.

Never begrudge moisture.

So sad to see. I keep my fingers crossed that Colorado doesn’t experience the same but that is really hopeful on my part.

      I’m worried about the West.
I always love hearing from you and all of your successes. I just stepped down as department chair and plan to just teach another two years…..Feels semi retired though it is considered full time. No better plan than Montana. Except Colorado is also pretty cool.
