Fall, winter and spring. We are his herd: the dogs, cats, and me.
He has the run of the place to kick up his hooves.
Too much grass to eat in the spring.
He comes up to the house to sleep on the ground in soft grass or snow, unafraid.
The Great Pyrenees are on guard. No cougars, bears or packs come near.
But come summer. He joins his horse friends in Red Lodge, for aspen trees and trail rides and cooler temperatures than home.
And many horses in the pasture.
Still, he is always happy to come back home.
Love the life your are living and share this with us. It is refreshing to think about another place to live, another way to live, and the gift an animal can bring to your life.
