The power of the written word

I thought they stopped listening.

I thought words no longer mattered.

I thought party line was invincible.

This bill passed the Montana Senate. It passed the House judiciary. It seemed inevitable.

But we had to try. Running this opinon in every paper- in every town. Then a TV interview.

The switchboard in Helena lit up.

Fourteen Republicans crossed the aisle to vote it down on the second reading in the house.

I cried. For many reasons.

Dan will have his peace very soon.

Especially when that word is so well-written. Thanks, A.J.
